About Michael’s House

Michael's House has risen from profound tragedy, much like a phoenix from the ashes. Following the devastating loss of Michael J Dias to addiction, his family transformed their sorrow into a force for change, establishing a beacon of hope—a "Gateway of Hope." This endeavor is driven by the determination to support and inspire those willing to embrace sobriety in the unwavering fight against addiction.

This sober living residence was established in 2016 as a lasting tribute to Michael J Dias.  It provides a warm, "family-like" atmosphere where men journey together toward recovery, supporting each other every step of the way. Residents here work, help with the home's operational costs, participate in group meetings, and volunteer in the local community. The guiding principle of the house is its unwavering support for recovery, which offers a profound sense of hope to all who walk through its doors.

This residence has built a strong and rightfully earned reputation in the Pioneer Valley community, a testament to the dedicated work of its committed volunteer Board of Directors. Michael's House is a vibrant tribute, embodying a legacy of hope that has flourished from tragedy.

Our Sober-living Environments

  • Our Belief in Recovery: A Foundation for Transformation

At our core, we believe recovery is attainable for anyone genuinely ready. This belief fuels our commitment to providing a nurturing environment where individuals can take significant steps toward a brighter future.

A Home for Healing and Growth

Our residences are not just houses; they are homes meticulously designed to offer a structured, safe, and drug-free haven. Rooted in a spiritual foundation, we embrace the profound principles of the 12 steps of recovery. Here, individuals discover a sense of belonging akin to a family experience, where mutual reliance in both joyous and challenging times is paramount.

Guidance and Mentorship for Lasting Recovery

Residents are encouraged to actively and ardently pursue their recovery journey with the support of a dedicated team of peer mentors who guide them within both group and one-on-one settings.

    Structured Empowerment

A well-organized schedule paves the way for educational groups, personalized mentoring, moments of self-reflection, and the acquisition of essential life skills.

    Accountability and Responsibility

In the realm of recovery, responsibility and accountability are pivotal. We firmly believe that each guest should be accountable for their actions and those of their housemates. Every community member is expected to engage in the structured activities provided by the house wholeheartedly.

    Security and Vigilance

Our commitment to safety extends to round-the-clock surveillance systems and individualized keyless entry, ensuring the utmost security for each guest. Random drug and breathalyzer tests, administered without prior notice, further strengthen our resolve to promote a supportive, accountable, and secure environment for all who seek recovery within our homes.
